Daniel Craig Belstaff K Racer Blouson
Updated April 12th, 2017 – One of Daniel Craig’s personal jackets that’s caught many an eye lately is the Belstaff K Racer Blouson. As near as I can tell, it was first positively identified for the Bond fan community on the Instagram account of “What’s Daniel Wearing” back at the start of March, although Reddit user Dr_TattyWaffles seems to have beaten us all to the punch, IDing the jacket back in December, 2015 in this thread. Craig’s Belstaff K Racer originally retailed for £349.00, and is – of course – sold out now; the current Belstaff model is only available in black and retails for €495.00.
Features Wanted for the Daniel Craig Belstaff K Racer Alternative
- Dark navy blue cotton fabric
- Fitted cut
- Quilted padding across the tops of the shoulders
- Standing collar with buckle strap closure
- Slanted chest pocket, two zippered side pockets, zippered cuffs, and exposed front zipper
- Buckle side adjusters at hem
Best Option for the Daniel Craig Belstaff K Racer
Mango Applique Cotton Jacket: on sale for $44.99/£45.99
It’s back! Mango’s Applique Cotton Jacket is now available on their outlet site! It uses buttons instead of buckles for the neck closure and side adjusters and has an extra chest pocket. But it certainly seems to have the Belstaff attitude at the right price. Sizes are starting to get a little spotty. Only medium and large are left.
AJB007 forum member Chriscoop purchased the Mango alternative and kindly shared his feedback in the comments. I’m reposting some of his key points here, along with some of his IRL pics.
“I ordered this from Mango’s site down from £69.99 to £34.99. The jacket itself is cropped style and sits at the waist, it has side adjusters with poppers. The material is a polyester /cotton /polyamide mix but feels natural and has a slight nap to it. Zippers and poppers seem of good quality. I ordered an XL and I’m six four with a 44 inch chest and 34/35 inch waist and the fit is good, fitted but with room to move. There are some nice details on this jacket and overall I’m happy with the construction quality. It’s lightweight but substantial and water repellent to boot. Overall this jacket is recommended by me.”

The Collection Navy Harrington Biker Jacket: £55.00/$77.00
It’s missing the zip chest pocket and cuffs. But it does have the quilted shoulders. The material is 100% polyester and Debenhams has most sizes in stock. Not the most exciting option, but it’ll get the job done.
Zara Jacket with Thermo-sealed Zippers in Blue: $89.90/£59.99
Belstaff with a fast fashion twist? Well it’s shiny, that’s for sure. Outer material is 100% polyester and it has two chest pockets plus a hood that stores away in the collar. But it also has that longer collar strap that most of the other alternatives are missing. It uses snap closures, as do the tabs at the cuffs and on the waist tabs. All sizes are in stock and remember that Zara tends towards a true slim fit.
RJR John Rocha Navy Harrington Jacket: £68.00/$95.20
An interesting option available at Debenhams. I’m not crazy about the copper tone of the zippers. But the other details and the color look good. Especially the single vertical chest pocket. Material is 61% cotton/39% nylon and it’s fully lined in cotton. Another plus? It also comes in Big and Tall sizes for the same price.
Under $200
Lucky Brand Bedford Racer Jacket in Black Iris: on sale for $100.99
Coming to you from 6pm.com, where sizes large, XL and XXL are still in stock. It’s missing the Belstaff’s collar buckle strap and shoulder quilting. And it has that extra chest pocket we’re seeing on most of the other alternatives. But it does have zippered cuffs. May be a good choice for those of you looking for something a little simpler?
Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply Motorcycle Jacket: on sale for $103.99
Your decision to scroll right on past this option will depend in large part on your feelings about nylon and sleeve patches. Specially, American flag sleeve patches. Macy’s is currently offering the jacket at a pretty decent discount (MSRP is $185.00). And they have sizes small to XXL in stock. Meanwhile, if you’re in the UK? You can expect to pay £155.00 over at House of Fraser.
Petrol Gordielo in Marine: £85.50/$107.00
A 100% polyester alternative available at Spartoo. The quilting on the shoulders is a good match. But then we get into the sheen of the fabric, the double, horizontal chest pockets and snap closures. Now, considering that most other alternatives also have those “less-than-accurate” features, I’d be willing to overlook them here. But the Petrol definitely seems like a fuller cut. More like an MA-1 flight jacket. Some you may like that (especially the bigger guys). Just FYI.
Diesel J-Ares Jacket in Navy: $186.99 to $248.00
The J-Ares gets a lot of the details right. But this is definitely one of the those “Get It While You Can!” items. Sold out everywhere, except Amazon U.S. And they’re down to sizes large to XXL. Diesel’s used a 65% cotton/35% nylon blend and the color is almost spot on.
The Investment Piece
Superdry IDRIS Director Biker Jacket: $250.00
“Idris? Where have I heard that name before?” Yes, this jacket is part of Superdry’s collaboration with Idris Elba. Which, by the way, has some other very nice pieces! Like the Diesel option, the material is 67% cotton/33% nylon. And it’s mercifully free of the usual Superdry branding. All in all, a nice alternative from the man who maybe could of been Bond.
I’ll keep checking the sites for more options, and you’re all welcome to share your great alternatives in the comments below! And remember to check out our Facebook page and Pinterest Boards for more James Bond style advice, inspiration and info on where to find the latest deals!

I bought the IDRIS Director jacket off Ebay, but unfortunately it was too small and I can’t seem to find one anywhere else!
I have another alternative:
Boss Orange Ofynn-w
and
Boss Orange Ondrix (with zippers at the back of the arms like the Belstaff): https://www.hugoboss.com/extra-slim-fit-biker-jacket-in-water-repellent-fabric/hbeu50368637_404.html?cgid=21200#wrapper
This should be the H-Racer. They made a mistake obviously
Got the last Superdry Jackt in navy blue for 95€, was on sale 🙂 I’ll hope it will fit (also ordered a number bigger in black).
any alternatives still, especially in the 100-150 euro range… I do not trust Mango qualitywise..
diesel ares is sold out, edge as well.
the superdry looks amazing but its something I d have to order to try.. does anyone know about the cut, especially shoulderwise? the superdry nordic harrington in XL was too small for my shoulders, couldnt lift my arms, impossible to drive a car… xxl would be too wide in the belly..
If anyone is interested in the current k racer, flannels have it reduced to 315 gbp, it’s classed as black but isn’t solid black http://www.flannels.com/belstaff-k-racer-blouson-jacket-608184
I’m still enjoying my mango alternative, it makes a great chuck on jacket, and I even pair mine up with ivory jeans and dark navy polo shirt ala qos.
Just ordered one since I missed it the first time. And now it looks like it’s sold out in the blue!

It’s got the navy colour, cotton material, fitted shape, zip sleeves/side pockets and padded shoulders. Missing the slanted chest pocket and side adjusters but for this price I think it is a good alternative!
this one is not for the broadshouldered. tried XL (183cm/82kg) and couldn’t lift my arms up. same problem with some nice superdry harrington (nordic harrington)
any alternatives? anyone?
OK so DC seems to like his K racer jacket a lot, and if the mango budget version is anything to go by I can see why. I ordered this from mangos site down from £69.99 to £34.99, great saving with free shipping from Spain!! via DHL and arrived in 4 days, pretty darn good. The jacket itself is cropped style and sits at the waist, it has side adjusters with poppers. The material is a polyester /cotton /polyamide mix but feels natural and has a slight nap to it, zippers and poppers seem of good quality, main zip has a leather pull tag which is a nice touch. It did come with a complete set of spare poppers? Which I’m amused about as you wouldn’t expect to replace these at all but I guess there there if you need them, I ordered an XL and I’m six four with a 44 inch chest and 34/35 inch waist and the fit is good, fitted but with room to move there are some nice details on this jacket and overall I’m happy with the construction quality, it’s lightweight but substantial and water repellent to boot. Overall this jacket is recommended by me.

I have the current K racer in black – and it’s made of an incredibly light nylon-ish windbreaker type fabric. Unbelievably light.
Thanks Sean. The only site where I could find product info on the ink blue version listed the material as 100% cotton:
http://en.styleicone.com/belstaff-k-racer-blouson-ink-blue.html
On their website, Belstaff states the material of this season’s black version as “92% Polyamide 8% Elastane”.
Different colors, different materials?
